According to a member of South African alternative act Kongos, first came the thrill of hearing one of their songs on the radio. Then came a rapid rise from obscurity to the top of the charts and more.
Keyboardist Johnny Kongos explained. “We were driving to Riot Fest in Denver and KTCL spun the record for the first time and I remember thinking, ‘Oh, this could be something,’ because at this point nothing was happening.”
