Music-Old-RadioIn our latest installment of events taking place in the radio space, Bubba the Love Sponge has returned to his old haunts, Emmis is getting set to deliver the first round of quarterly results, Norsan has an LMA in Jacksonville and iHeart is Hip-Hopping in Tidewater.

* Beasley Tampa outlet WHFS-FM is all Bubba, all the time. That’s right – Bubba the Love Sponge is back in town, holding down the morning drive shift, and indeed, all shifts around the clock until the group picks a new format for the station.

* Emmis will waste no time performing its canary in the coal mine act by giving an early sense of how radio financial performance is going. It will announce results and meet with investors and analysts 1/8/15 in a conference call beginning at 9AM eastern – and at 6AM for left-coasters.

* WJXR-FM is now under the TLC of Norsan Media. Norsan is operating the station with a Latina Tropical Hits format under an LMA and also holds an option to purchase the 92.1 MHz facility. Mark Jorgenson of Jorgenson Broadcast Brokerage handled arrangements.

* Throwback Hip-Hop is coming to Virginia’s Tidewater market, otherwise known as Hampton Roads or even as Norfolk-Virginia Beach-Newport News. The format will be heard on iHeat’s 92.1 The Beat, itself otherwise known as WKSA-FM Moyock NC.
