Westwood-One-LOGO-2014News from the radio biz: There will be more Dr. Drew at Westwood One and Cumulus; Radio is helping Ed Sheeran continue to prosper; America’s Talk Radio Network ads Jolene Roxbury; and Wyatt Cox’s 15th Christmas program is set to air.


* Dr. Drew’s Loveline is adding 35 Cumulus affiliates as Westwood One begins syndication of the program 1/1/15 – it has already been handling sales for the program. Meanwhile, the Westwood One star is also getting a feature on KABC Los Angeles – Dr. Drew at Midday with Mike Catherwood.

* Ed Sheeran is hot – getting exposure on all sorts of media, but his label, Atlantic, remains interested in touting his airplay. It noted that his latest single Thinking Out Loud “is quickly ascending the radio charts with airplay on the biggest Top 40 and Adult stations in the country,” underscoring radio’s continued relevance to the music industry.

* The Jolene Roxbury Variety Hour is headed for syndication on America’s Talk Radio Networks – it will air 9PM eastern time on Saturday nights, providing family-friendly comedy. It is described as an alternative to political fare.

* Wyatt Cox’s Christmas on the Radio is back for its 15th year on a selection of stations from coast to coast. Originally a 10-hour program aired in Las Vegas, it is now 18 hours and in syndication.
