Social networking, that is. Radio One says it has bought Community Connect Inc. for approximately 38 million bucks.
Community Connect owns and operates a number of social-networking brands under its umbrella, including BlackPlanet.com, MiGente.com, and AsianAve.com. With over 20 million members it is the 4th most visited US social networking property/publisher, according to January 2008 data from Hitwise.
“We will be the clear number one in the African-American online space,” said Radio One CEO Alfred Liggins.
