It’s toast and tunes all at the same time: In move that may rival in convenience the invention of the clock radio, UK kitchen appliance maker Breville has made a significant combination of its own: the toaster and radio.

With the Breville Radio Toaster, breakfasters can toast bread, bagels, English muffins, etc. and listen to music all on the same device.

“Up to two slices of bread can be toasted at once, and with varying degrees of intensity. Like most modern toasters, the Radio Toaster also features reheat and defrost buttons as well as a removable crumb tray, making the device a fairly standard kitchen appliance that just happens to have a radio attached to it,” reports ZDNet.

The device includes both AM and FM frequencies, 10 station presets, and auxiliary inputs for external MP3 players. Note, also, the device’s antenna, which draws almost immediate curiosity. Breville’s musical toaster sells for $80 (£50).
