Radiothon raises over $227K for Children's Hospital

Journal Broadcast Group’s 10th Annual Star 102.1 (WWST-FM Knoxville) Radiothon raised $227,226 for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. The station’s morning show, “Marc and Kim & Frank in the Morning,” aired live from West Town Mall in Knoxville from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 3/24 and 3/25.


Funds raised during this year’s Star 102.1 Radiothon will be used to purchase items to help Children’s Hospital better care for its patients. The items include backpacks for feeding pumps, bullet oxygen regulators, oxygen concentrators, cough assist machine, CPAP units, mini O2 tanks, extra small wheelchairs and phototherapy units, among other pieces of equipment needed by hospital patients on a daily basis.

Since it began 10 years ago, the Star 102.1 Radiothon for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital has raised $1.7 million.
