Bliss Communications’ WRJN-AM Racine, WI announced the passing of Ralph Schoenleben, who had hosted “Sunday Evening Concert” on the station for 55 years. He was 94 when he died Monday.

Although Schoenleben had not sat in the studio to host the Classical music show since last December, the News/Talk station has continued to air the “Best of Ralph Schoenleben” weekly.

According to the obituary in the Racine Journal-Times, Schoenleben had operated a record store downtown for many years and continued his rare recording business online after closing the store at age 89. An ASCAP member, he had been a music composer since age 18.

A memorial service, for which Schoenleben selected the music, will be Sunday afternoon (7/25) at the First United Methodist Church in Racine.
