“We have been able to write business in this tough time,” longtime Atlanta-market GM Brian Barber says of his two Spanish-language radio brands, owned by Davis Broadcasting. “Have we lost business? Sure. Everybody has. But I think it’s having a very cohesive team and being very unified and being very sensitive to the clients and speaking with them as to what their needs are and addressing those needs … and that’s what we’ve done.”
It’s a positive tale regarding Hispanic-targeted media in what is still considered an emerging market, and stations that capture a unique audience but may not have been able to capitalize through advertising during the COVID-19 pandemic.
