MLB.com reports The Red Sox are returning to their former longtime radio home. Starting with Wednesday night’s home game against the Chicago White Sox, broadcasts of Red Sox games will be back on the WEEI Network, which had carried Boston games from 1995 to 2006, when they were switched to WRKO 680. WRKO and WEEI are both properties of Entercom New England, which has decided to return Red Sox broadcasts to their original spot on the dial.

Explained Jason Wolfe, Entercom New England’s vice president of AM programming, “We have a tremendously close partnership with the Red Sox, and are very excited to bring them back to WEEI. This move will add consistency to our lineup, whereby all of our sports assets will be consolidated in the same place.”

WEEI already carried the Boston Celtics, Sunday Night and Monday Night NFL football, Patriots Monday and Patriots Friday, the Super Bowl, and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
