Regional Reps has signed an exclusive national sales rep deal with WUVA-FM (Urban AC). The University station’s FCC license is commercial. It’s part of a small club: student owned and operated — yet fully self-supporting — commercial broadcast stations. It’s one of only six in the US, along with WPRB at Princeton University; WYBC at Yale; WHRB at Harvard; WBRU at Brown; and WVBR at Cornell.
Said Stuart J. Sharpe, President of Regional Reps: “My own passion for Radio was ignited at a student run Radio station (Ohio University’s WOUB), so it’s especially gratifying to join the outstanding WUVA team!. A unique blend of student energy and talent and guidance from a board composed of station alumni, many of whom now are successful broadcasters has led to a tradition of commercial success in the Charlottesville market. We look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship with President Steven Sweet and the talented WUVA staff.”
