Regional RepsEvery year radio rep firm Regional Reps has produced a printed, laminated 3-year broadcast calendar, a popular promotional gift for radio stations and agency clients. Now, Regional Reps has launched a mobile version of their handy calendar. The mobile broadcast calendar is free at broadcastcalendars.com.

Shayna Sharpe, Regional Reps’ Vice President of Business Development, initiated the project. “Mobile devices are an indispensable part of everyone’s business day,” said Sharpe. “We’ve created a product that’s useful for on-the-go planning and can also be customized to become a promotional and sales tool.”

Regional Reps is making the mobile calendar available for custom branding. “We see the mobile calendar as a good fit for stations ready to extend their reach into the digital marketplace,” Ms. Sharpe said. “Radio stations can use the customized mobile calendar as a unique gift for agencies and clients, or sell banner ads within the calendar. It’s an easy, cost-effective way for stations to jump into the mobile revolution.”

The mobile revolution shows no signs of slowing. This is great news for broadcasters seeking a digital revenue stream:

• Apple sold an estimated 37 million iPhones in the third quarter of 2013. There are currently more iPhones sold per day than people born in the world per day.

• Google recently announced that approximately 1.5 million Android phones are activated daily.

• eMarketer’s 2013 report indicates the number of US mobile coupon users will rise from 12.3 million in 2010 to 53.2 million in 2014, driven by the rapid adoption of smartphones. In 2014, one in four mobile phone users will redeem a coupon via a mobile device.
