According to an AP report, CBS Corp. and Time Warner executives have been discussing a joint bid for the 2014 Winter and 2016 Summer Olympics to compete with NBC Universal. Such a joint approach would allow CBS and TW to emulate the successful NBCU model of spreading the Olympics across multiple broadcast and cable channels, plus broadband. The bidding will take place after a host city is selected in October for 2016 from Chicago, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. The 2014 Games will be in Sochi, Russia.
