The Commerce Department reported that retail sales rose 0.5% in October. That was good news for Wall Street – at least good enough to give stock prices a modest boost. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 17 points, or 0.1%, to 12,096. Broadcast stocks, which tend to be closely tied to retail sales trends, moved up.
The RBR Radio Index was up 1.769, or 0.5%, to 332.104.
The TVBR Television Index was up 2.971, or 1.2%, to 243.555.
