On May 31, 2019, David Amy retired as Vice Chairman of Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Now, he has resurfaced, as he’s been selected to hold the role of Chairman of the non-profit trade association that negotiates music performing rights licenses on behalf of the local commercial television industry and leads efforts to promote a competitive market for music performing rights.

Amy is now leading the Television Music License Committee (TVMLC). He takes a role previously held for decades by Chuck Sennett.

Senett recently retired from the now-defunct Tribune Media, in concert with its merger acquisition with Nexstar Media Group.

“The entire Committee is so grateful for Chuck’s many years of service and dedication to the Committee and welcomes Dave as Committee Chair,” TVMLC Executive Director Janet McHugh said. “We are so pleased that Dave has agreed to take on this new and important role after supporting the Committee for many years. His knowledge of the local TV broadcast industry, financial acumen and experience in working with the Committee will be invaluable to our mission.”
