Friday at midnight was to have been the deadline for Cox Communications in Kansas to sign a retransmission consent agreement with Gray Television or pull WIBW-TV (Ch. 13, CBS) Topeka, KS from its cable systems. It looked like a do or die showdown after negotiations stalled. But there was a last minute breakthrough – not a settlement, yet, but the parties say there was progress, so Gray granted the MSO a 4th extension to keep WIBW on its systems for one more week while contract negotiations move toward a resolution.
