Meredith’s KPHO-TV (CBS) Phoenix says retransmission consent negotiations with the Washington Post Company’s Cable One have stalled. As of now, KPHO is expecting to be pulled from Cable One’s Arizona systems (Prescott, Clifton, Cottonwood, Cornville, Globe/Miami, Morenci, Page, Safford, Show Low, Snowflake and Winslow) when the current retrans agreement expires on New Year’s Eve.
“We have reached agreements with all the major cable and satellite companies. We hope to reach a similar agreement with Cable One. However, we do not understand why Cable One does not see the value in KPHO’s local news and network programming, while they continue to pay money to barely watched, narrowly focused cable channels,” said KPHO Vice President and General Manager Ed Munson.
