His real name was Anthony Hyde, but he was known on the air as Rev. T.J. Graham for most of his 25 years on Tennessee radio stations. The WVOL-AM Nashville talk host has died at age 50 after suffering a stroke.

Opinionated and provocative, Graham was full of surprises for his listeners. While he was an ardent supporter of President Barack Obama and generally embraced liberal causes, Graham organized and led an anti-immigrant rally and denounced gay rights on his show.

The veteran broadcaster joined WVOL in 2006. Before that his radio career had taken him from WDBL-AM in his hometown of Springfield, TN to a number of stations throughout the state – and through on-air gigs as varied as sports reporting to DJing Country music.

A wake is set for Friday at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville, with the funeral for Anthony Hyde/Rev. T.J. Graham Saturday (11/19) at Springfield Baptist Church.
