Former Bonneville exec Rich Mecham is leading a group with a contract to acquire a six-pack of radio stations in the Idaho Falls-Pocatello ID market from Townsquare filed with the FCC just before January segued into February. Now he has a deal to acquire two more in the same general vicinity.

According to Greg Merrill and Jody McCoy of Media Services Group, Mecham’s Rich Broadcasting will pay $950K for KCHQ-FM and the CP for KRID-FM.

Ted and Connie Austin are the sellers, and they and the rest of their staff will be remaining with the company.
Mecham said “We are buying great stations in the market that will now have the best coverage in southeastern Idaho.” The brokers noted that once all deals close, the new group’s coverage will extend from Pocatello all the way to Jackson WY.

The Townsquare deal is bringing in KID AM-FM Idaho Falls, KWIK-AM/KPKY-FM/KEGE-FM Pocatello & KLLP-FM Chubbock for $1.85M.
