In a move the company says “further positions the company for future growth and the evolution of its services in local media,” a new EVP/Head of Local Media has been named at Magid.

Why? Steve Ridge is transitioning to a role as a senior advisor.

Jaime Spencer will succeed Ridge, and marks an ascent that saw him rise from a consulting associate role he took when joining Magid in 2002.

Prior experience includes roles at PR shop Edelman, and as GM of a Gannett daily newspaper.

“I’m honored to be asked to lead our Local Media group and join the Executive Leadership Team as we continue to define and drive a vision for our practice that meets the challenges of our local media clients,” said Spencer. “It is a challenging, but opportunistic time for local media organizations. I couldn’t be more excited to help our clients take advantage of changes occurring in the market and continue to be successful.”

Brent Magid, President and CEO of Magid, added, “Under Jaime’s leadership, I’m excited about the new services we’re bringing to our clients to help them succeed in the areas of greatest opportunity for their business. Jaime brings both tremendous historical perspective and new thinking that has led to numerous client successes.”
