Rogala Returns To Memphis, For TEGNA

The President/CEO of Bespoke Health Media has received a healthy and hearty OK from TEGNA, as it has filled its open Memphis leadership slot with the individual who most reccently held this Little Rock-based role.

Rick Rogala will now serve as President/GM for TEGNA’s ABC affiliate in Memphis, WATN-24, and WLMT-30, and affiliate of The CW Network.

Rogala is considered by TEGNA to be a “senior media executive,” and before leading the content and technology company providing marketing tools for the healthcare industry served as a SVP at Nexstar Media Group.

At Nexstar, Rogala was responsible for direct operational oversight of 12 markets and the creation and implementation of company-wide sales training and revenue initiatives.

This makes Rogala a logical pick for TEGNA’s Memphis duo: He worked closely with WATN when the station was owned by Nexstar.

“Throughout his distinguished career, Rick has shown a talent for leading teams, serving local audiences, and partnering with local businesses,” said Lynn Beall, TEGNA’s EVP/COO for Media Operations. “His in-depth knowledge of the needs of the Memphis market, combined with a collaborative decision-making approach that has always brought out the best in his colleagues make him an ideal fit to lead our team at WATN/WLMT.”

Before taking the executive role at Nexstar, Rogala spent nearly two years as VP/GM of WCMH-4 in Columbus, Ohio. He has also been VP/GM of KARK-4 in Little Rock, and held similar roles for WTTV-4 and WXIN-TV in Indianapolis.

Previous stints include roles as President/GM of WFLA-8 in Tampa, at WLWT-5 in Cincinnati, and at WZZM-13 in Grand Rapids.
