Romantica 900am debuts in DC

ZGS Communications, a Hispanic-owned media company HQ’d in Arlington, VA  station debuted Romantica 900am 3/14 at 6:00 a.m. It’s not a major change, as it was a talk and music station before as Viva900 “Where Love Lives.” It now offers AC Spanish tunes including today’s top hits as well as popular music from the eighties and nineties.  


Romantica 900am also contains interviews and special features that are relevant to the Hispanic community.   The station will establish deep ties in the local Hispanic community and will serve as a positive force in building the creative economy of the D.C. Metropolitan area with its programming, community involvement and local partnerships.

Says Giovanna Salazar, station manager. “We’re very proud of Romantica 900am and the important contributions it will make to entertain and inform the local Hispanic community. Our goal is for the station to be distinctive and compelling.”

Sergio Urriola is the PD and brings over 13 years experience to the station directing the vibrant line-up of on-air personalities and programming. The morning show, Una Buena Manana , includes Urriola and Claudia Alfaro. The lunch hour includes Musica Sobre Mesa presented by Johana Hernandez bringing listeners the hottest hits .  Sabor y Algo Mas immediately follows with Hernandez and local radio personality Neo Lobo providing comedic relief for the afternoon drive.   The weekends feature the classic bolero program Buenas Tardes, Senor Bolero with Jose Luis Liriano.
