Roy Henderson’s ‘Texas Mix’ Tossed To New Owner


If you like acts such as Asleep At The Wheel, Cody Johnson, the Bellamy Brothers, Josh Ward, Waylon Jennings, Cory Morrow, Willie Nelson, Owen Temple and the legendary Johnny Cash, then there’s a Texas Class C3 FM with a construction permit for 8kw worth your attention.

It’s branded as “Texas Mix,” and until now it has been owned by Roy Henderson.

Soon, a new owner will have control of the Lone Star State property.

The station Henderson is spinning is KTWL-FM 105.3, licensed to Hempstead, Tex., and serving a rural area sandwiched between College Station and The Woodlands, a northern suburb of Houston.

The buyer is SDK Franco, and it is purchasing KTWL for $2 million.

A $100,000 secured deposit has been made, with $1 million due at closing. The remainder is considered “deferred consideration” and is represented by a Promissory Note.

SDK Franco is lead by Sara Guevara. She used the services of Francisco Montero of Fletcher Heald and Hildreth, who is the legal counsel is this transfer application.

Henderson is represented by John C. Trent of Putbrese Hunsacker & Trent P.C.

The purchase would bring SDK Franco its first full-signal FM. At present, it is the licensee of Houston-based FM Translators K223CW and K287BQ.
