The Radio Television Digital News Foundation (RTDNF) has taken a step to assure its future and its efforts on behalf of the electronic journalism industry in professional development, scholarship support and First Amendment protection.
A newly created Permanent Endowment Fund will enable all who support the organization to make an unrestricted, tax-deductible current or legacy donation.
The support is an insurance policy for the foundation arm of the Radio Television Digital News Association.
“The new Endowment Fund is a great step forward for RTDNF,” RTDNF Chair Amy Tardif said. “Through the generosity of our donors, the endowment will insure the foundation will continue to provide training and support to electronic news professionals and students alike.”
Since its inception in 1967, the RTDNF has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships to aspiring and early-career journalists. It also provides training and leadership instruction to news managers, supports international journalist exchange programs, conducts important industry research and promotes discussion of ethics and integrity in news coverage.
