Late reports yesterday hit the internet that Hearst Corp. is figuring what to do with the San Francisco Chronicle — which may include just shutting the paper down. Hearst is said to be making what it called ‘significant’ job cuts within weeks. Chronicle saw red last year to the tune of $50 million and it seems the problem is even worse right now. So it will not surprise many if the doors do close.
