Santorum launches radio ad after Iowa polls jump (audio)

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is aiming to capitalize on his recent increase in the polls with a new radio ad airing statewide in Iowa. It’s Santorum’s first media buy in the state since a CNN/TIME/ORC International poll 12/28 showed the conservative former PA Senator leaping into third place among Republicans ahead of the 1/3 caucuses.

The :60 spot, “Best Chance,” claims Santorum is most electable candidate in the Republican field because he’s “a full spectrum conservative” with “more foreign policy credentials than any of the candidates” — a claim that former Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman may take issue with.

“Rock solid on value issues like life, marriage and the right to own a gun,” the v/o  says. “Santorum is also a favorite of the Tea Party for his efforts fighting corruption and taxpayer abuse in Washington.”

The ad closes by telling Iowa conservatives Santorum is a candidate “we can all unite behind.”
