After reading our story about his pending deal to buy SNN News 6 Doug Barker called to let us know that the household count of 118,000 still posted on the Sarasota Herald-Tribune website is out of date and SNN is now in over 180,000 households. The local news channel beat all other 24/7 cable news outlets in the latest Nielsen ratings for its two-county market, so he says it proves that “local makes sense.” Barker remains confident that all of the money will be raised for a December closing.
