Satellite/Cable Will Find Viewers Loyal to Local TV

Michael DeLierMore than 150 television stations could be affected if carriage deals aren’t worked out between broadcast owners and satellite or cable systems.

Talks between Tribune, Tegna and Media General and Dish, DirecTV and U-Verse appear to be going down to the wire (which would be Oct. 1.) Station owners are running crawls across the screen urging viewers to contact their cable and satellite programming provider directly to urge providers to stay at the negotiating table and reach an agreement to avoid a blackout.
