In late-night metered-market households Saturday night: An encore telecast of “Saturday Night Live” (4.3/11 in metered-market households), hosted by Tina Fey and featuring musical guest Justin Bieber, dominated its time period. The “Saturday Night Live” encore tied for the #1 rating of the night in metered-market households with CBS’s original “48 Hours.”
This is the top-rated “Saturday Night Live” encore in metered-market households in nearly 15 months (since February 28, 2009, with a rebroadcast hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and featuring musical guest Taylor Swift). Versus the same night last year, “Saturday Night Live” is up 19 percent (4.3 vs. 3.6).
In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, the May 22 edition of “Saturday Night Live” averaged a 2.2 rating, 10 share in adults 18-49, and was easily the #1 telecast of the night ahead of all primetime telecasts on all major networks.
