Savage planning comeback soon

Michael SavageMichael Savage, off air since last month after winning a legal battle with Talk Radio Network, tells the San Francisco Chronicle he expects to be back behind the mic within two weeks.

“I’ve got to get back before these (presidential) debates are over,” Savage said. “And when I do, it will be bigger than ever.”

Savage’s lawyer, Daniel Horowitz – who led the legal fight to get Savage out of his contract with TRN – said Savage is in discussions with three “major players” he declined to name.

As for whether the deal will include a local station, Horowitz said, “I can’t comment. It might tip our hand.”

Before splitting with the Talk Radio Network, Savage – who has a long history of battling with his various bosses – had a listening audience estimated at 8 million, according to Talkers.

Since leaving the airwaves last month, he’s been spending his time visiting his son in Beverly Hills, working on the sequel to his action novel “Abuse of Power,” and “planning my return from retirement,” Savage told the paper.
