‘Save Community Radio’ Effort Starts With Noncomm’s Sale

A student and community radio station serving Illinois’ state capital of Springfield, a Class A with the same power output as an FM translator, is being sold.

The buyer is a broadcast ministry, which will convert the station to religious programming. A group of air personalities who work at the station aren’t throwing in the towel, however, and have created a GoFundMe site to help with the purchase of a new on-air home.
