MIAMI — Spanish Broadcasting System experienced record audience consumption growth at such stations as WSKQ-FM “Mega 97.9” in New York through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, Mega 97.9 remains No. 1 overall in the August 2020 Nielsen Audio ratings for the nation’s No. 1 market.
Unfortunately, ad growth couldn’t come along with ratings growth. Radio net revenue and adjusted OIBDA plunged for SBS in Q2 2020, the company said in its delayed earnings release for the three-month period ending June 30.
