Scarborough Research announced that Tom Drouillard will join the company as President and CEO, effective January 1st. He joins Scarborough from serving as President of Nielsen Online.

The Nielsen Company is one of the 50/50 owners of Scarborough, along with Arbitron. Drouillard’s hiring completes the CEO search begun in October when Gregg Linder was hired by Arbitron as Chief Research Officer and Executive Vice President, Service Innovation. Linder had been running Scarborough as Executive Vice President since President and CEO Robert Cohen began a medical leave of absence in November 2009. Scarborough says Cohen would not be returning to the company.

Prior to Nielsen Online, Drouillard’s resume included Claritas, PERQ/HCI, Interactive Market Systems, and SRDS.

“We are very excited to bring Tom on?board,” said Sean Creamer, executive vice president, U.S. Media Services, Arbitron, Inc. “He has an exceptional leadership background that includes sales, marketing, product development and research. He has distinctly demonstrated the ability to provide the valued services necessary to help clients enhance ROI.”

“Tom has a proven track record for collaborating with clients to create value?added services,” added Thom Mastrelli, executive vice president, Corporate Development, The Nielsen Company.
“Tom will leverage his overall business leadership experiences to create new local market product solutions that support Scarborough clients in their evolving cross?platform information needs.”

“I am honored to have been appointed the next CEO of Scarborough. Scarborough has a long tradition of bringing high?quality local market data solutions to media outlets and marketers across the country. I look forward to upholding that tradition, and extending the Scarborough brand to address evolving client needs and to reflect the increasingly diverse American consumer,” said Drouillard.
