The television, radio, cable  and newspaper properties of Schurz Communications are centered in the Midwest and confined to the 48 contiguous states, but that’s about to change. The multimedia operator has a deal on file with the FCC to acquire NBC KTUU-TV in Anchorage AK. The seller is Channel 2 Broadcasting Inc., a subsidiary of Zaser & Longston. Schurz will pay 26M cash for the station. Schurz owns and operates a TV/radio cluster in South Bend IN; television stations in Springfield MO, Wichita KS (along with four other full-power stations in various Kansas locations), Augusta GA, and Roanoke VA; and radio clusters in Rapid City SD and Lafayette IN.
