The 78th annual search for excellence in television, radio and digital media will formally begin on October 15. That’s when the official online submission system opens for the Peabody Awards.
Submissions for productions released during 2018 will be accepted through January 9, 2019. The Peabody Awards are based at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.
“With such a diverse media landscape out there, we’re looking forward to seeing how creativity and conversation have been elevated by our entrants in this new season of awards consideration,” said Executive Director Jeffrey P. Jones.
Jones also noted that Nominee and Winner Announcements will be made on a rolling schedule by categories during April 2019 and that the 78th Annual Peabody Awards Ceremony will once again be held as a red-carpet event in New York City at Cipriani Wall Street on the evening of Saturday, May 18, 2019.
For more than 77 years, Peabody has recognized the best storytelling in the media and entertainment industry. The Peabody Award is given to a select group of winners annually from programming in news, entertainment, documentary, podcast, and digital media.
