Media Information Bureau featured columnist Ken Benner and his wife, Karen, have made a career of serving as alternative broadcast inspectors. Thanks to their efforts, many stations across the U.S. have saved themselves from forking over thousands of dollars to the FCC, preventing them from a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture.


Benner is particularly incensed over one station that was fined $15,000. Why? He has a simple form that could have prevented the signing and mailing of a hefty check to Washington, D.C.
