Competition remains hot in the Central Coast market of California – Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo. Cowles California Media announced that it is launching a new “Central Coast News at 7” on KKFX, “Fox 11.”

While KKFX is an LPTV on analog channel 24, it is also carried on a digital multicast channel of full-power sister KCOY-TV (CBS). And with the added newsgathering of sister stations in nearby Salinas, the Fox affiliate has extensive news resources to draw on.

“If there’s one newscast a person should watch, it will be this new show on Fox 11.” said News Director, John Zuchelli. “’Central Coast News at 7’ will be a traditional half hour of news like no other in our viewing area.”  The newscast will be anchored by familiar faces; veteran news anchor, Arturo Santiago; chief meteorologist, Jim Byrne; and sports anchor, Dave Alley.

The newscast will be part of a new line-up weeknights on Fox 11.  The station will air Everybody Loves Raymond at 6 pm; The Office at 6:30 pm; Central Coast News at 7; and Two and a Half Men at 7:30 pm.
