Silverton CO may not be the middle of nowhere, but it is a fact that it is nowhere near any rated radio territory. A Class A noncom that is tucked in well below the height of the average terrain is being sold there.
The station is KSVZ-FM. It is being sold by Educational Communications of Colorado Springs, headed by Ronald Johnson, and is going to Make a Difference Foundation, headed by Gayle Nyquest.
The price is a modest $100 cash.
The station is earmarked for 89.7 MHz. It’ll be a Class A with 250 watts at an HAAT of -1,867’.
Make a Difference already holds four FM CPs, headed for the Colorado towns of Craig, Ouray, Lamar and Brush.
