The CBS affiliate serving Maine’s biggest market, owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, has selected its new GM.
It’s none other than the station’s longtime sales leader.
Taking the job at WGME-TV in Portland, Me., is Susan Walther, who will also be responsible for the oversight of Sinclair’s provision of services to the market’s FOX affiliate, WPFO-TV, under a joint sales agreement.
She reports to television group EVP/COO Steve Marks, who said, “Susan is no stranger to the Portland, Maine, market. She has been with Sinclair in Portland for almost 20 years. Her long history in television sales and deep connection to the community make her a great leader for our stations.”
Walther has been with Sinclair for 19 years, serving as WGME’s GSM for the past nine years. Over the past 30 years, she has held various sales and management
positions in the market.
“I work with the best in the business,” said Walther. “I look forward to getting
more deeply involved in the local community and helping to lead our team to even greater
success.”
