Some 13 years ago, a South Florida-based operator named URBAN Radio Licenses purchased WVNA-FM 105.5 in Muscle Shoals, Ala., serving the Florence, Ala., market, from iHeartMedia.
Fast-forward to September 28, 2018, when iHeartMedia followed through on the sale of a new FM translator station serving Florence, successfully bid on during Auction 83, to URBAN Radio—a deal intertwined with the WVNA transaction from 2005.
Now, URBAN Radio Broadcasting is getting out of the Alabama market altogether.
