SIRIUS XM Radio announced the launch of MiRGE, the first interoperable satellite radio. MiRGE allows subscribers to easily switch between SIRIUS and XM, allowing them to “receive all the dynamic and exclusive commercial-free music, news, talk, sports and comedy channels and shows from both services.”
RBR/TVBR observation: Haven’t they heard the two companies have merged and merged programming? The basic difference users will experience is a different numbering of the channels, sans a few exclusives like some Sports, Martha, Howard Stern and Oprah. But those few different channels are now available on XM and vice versa, for a small extra fee.
