SiriusXM’s Big Push For New Subscribers

Here’s a first for Howard Stern fans: Access via streaming audio is here, as part of a newly redesigned and updated smartphone app release from SiriusXM.

To celebrate the new app, the nation’s lone satellite radio broadcaster is opening up its content for free on both its satellite and streaming platform from now through May 29.

SiriusXM says the new app delivers “a wholly new streaming experience that includes expanded programming, greater discovery, more intuitive recommendations and the introduction of SiriusXM Video.”

Anyone with an inactive satellite radio, or who has an internet connected mobile device and/or web access, will enjoy free access to SiriusXM. This includes Canada.

That gives new-to-SiriusXM listeners access to The Beatles Channel, Eminem’s Shade 45, Kevin Hart’s new comedy channel, LL COOL J’s new classic hip-hop channel, Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Radio, Kenny Chesney’s No Shoes Radio, Diplo’s Revolution, Mad Dog Sports Radio, SiriusXM POTUS, and Doctor Radio, among other offerings.

For fans of Stern who still miss his long-gone morning show, this marks the first time his two full time audio channels, which include his Howard Stern Show, will be streamed free to anyone, with no subscription or login required.

During the free tune-in period listeners can also sample SiriusXM by using the re-designed streaming web player at SiriusXM.com.
