The nation’s satellite radio provider has extended its relationship with the Korean automaker for five more years. This means those buying a Hyundai or Genesis will continue to get a three-month introductory SiriusXM All Access subscription, which includes access to the SiriusXM mobile app.

This agreement lasts through 2022.

With the pending arrival of the “connected car,” and a dashboard that visually mirrors a smartphone menu, this puts added pressure on the radio industry to ensure that access to AM and FM stations is not diminished on a screen likely to have app-like access buttons — and a SiriusXM logo prominently displayed.

The promotion with Hyundai also allows customers purchasing any Genesis brand vehicle equipped with Navigation to receive a three-year subscription to the SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link infotainment services.

“We are very pleased to continue our long-term relationship with SiriusXM to continue providing Hyundai and Genesis customers with SiriusXM’s excellent audio entertainment, as well as their top-of-the-line infotainment services,” said Cason Grover, senior group manager, vehicle technology planning for Hyundai Motor America. “In our pursuit to deliver more in every facet of the car ownership experience, SiriusXM is a great example of how we are continuing to push toward this goal.”

Customers who purchase Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned vehicles will also continue to receive a three-month introductory subscription to SiriusXM All Access.
