SJL/Lilly Stations Return To DirecTV

Yet another ugly fight over retransmission fees involving a TV station owner and AT&T-owned DirecTV is now over.

The station owners in this battle are Brian Lilly and Kevin Lilly, who are the owners of SJL Broadcast Management and Lilly Broadcasting.

On April 1, their KITV-4 in Honolulu — the lone ABC affiliate in Hawaii — went dark on DirecTV.

So did their WENY-36 in Elmira, N.Y., an ABC affiliate that offers CBS programming on its DT-2 signal.

Also going dark on DirecTV: The Lillys’ NBC-affililated WICU-12 in Erie, Pa., and WSEE-16 in Erie, which airs CBS programming and The CW on its DT-2 signal.

As of 4pm local time Tuesday (4/11), KITV said it would be back on DirecTV “shortly.”

Terms of the new deal were not disclosed.
