Skyview Gets Upfront With Clients At Advertising Week

NEW YORK — Advertising Week has become a big deal for many audio industry companies, including iHeartMedia, NPR and Pandora.

On Wednesday evening, it was Skyview Networks’ turn to show off what it has to offer advertisers across 2019 through a “star-studded event” positioned as “Experience Beyond.”

Held at The Onyx Room, Skyview’s presentation focused on new integrations and experiential opportunities for the coming year across Skyview Networks’ sales portfolio, which includes CBS Audio and ABC Radio.

Network buyers flew in from Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston and Atlanta for the event, which touched on the strength of radio, the power of branded content, and the importance of “trusted, valuable programming.”

ABC Radio personalities spoke about their deep connection with audiences, which included ABC World News Tonight anchor David Muir and Sara Haines, co-anchor of ABC’s new daytime chat show GMA Day.

Representing CBS Audio and speaking to their dedication to news and entertainment content was Jeff Glor, host of CBS Evening News; Inside Edition host Deborah Norville; and CBS Sunday Morning host Martha Teichner.

“This really was a magical night that allowed us to share the exceptional programming we offer our advertising partners,” Skyview Networks EVP/GM Jeanne-Marie Condo said. “ABC and CBS are two of the most influential brands in media, and agencies were able to hear their integration plans directly from the networks and engage with the talent driving many of these platforms.”

Showcasing Skyview sports was former New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals first baseman and current broadcaster Keith Hernandez.

Ken Thiele, Founder and CEO of Skyview Networks, was pleased with the Upfront event, which takes a cue from the somewhat out-of-vogue dog-and-pony shows used by broadcast television networks to win advertisers ahead of the new fall season. The TV industry Upfront Week in mid-May has dimmed in recent years, in particular with the cessation of events from Hispanic-targeted networks.

“I enjoyed the opportunity to speak with a number of our long-time buyers and received tremendous feedback,” he said. “I believe the success of this event differentiates us and will continue to create further momentum.”
