Slacker Radio launches iPad app

The personalized, social media internet music streamer announced at CES 2011 it will have an app for the iPad out before the end of this month featuring artist bios, album reviews, artist images and full-size album art. It will also work with Slacker’s newly unveiled on-demand streaming plan, dubbed Slacker Premium Radio, providing access to its entire song library, top charts, and station playlists. The subscription will work with all of Slacker’s clients for the internet, iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry.

Slacker Premium Radio will also become available before the end of January.

RBR-TVBR observation: The on-demand song access is something that market leader Pandora currently does not have. With Pandora, you can choose a song from their library, but it may not play for a while, or at all. Pandora’s “Genome Music Project,” which selects similar music to what was chosen, is a pretty impressive piece of software, nonetheless.
