NEW YORK — Ken Lagana, the EVP/Digital Sales for Entercom Communications, now has a deputy to manage advertising opportunities for its Radio.com platform and its brands across podcasting and streaming squarely focused on East Coast clients.

Now in the role is Andy Slater, who’ll be based from Entercom’s 345 Hudson Street offices in Manhattan.

“Andy has a tremendous track record leading sales strategy across numerous digital platforms, most recently in podcasting,” said Lagana. “His unique combination of experience in broadcast radio and digital will prove to be a major asset as we continue developing and expanding our position as leaders in the digital audio marketplace.”

Slater added, “Considering my background in radio and, most recently, my experience in the podcast space I found this opportunity at Entercom to be a truly exciting one. From broadcast radio to audio streaming to podcasting, I’m looking forward to bringing our end-to-end audio solutions to advertisers and agencies.”

Slater joins Entercom from Midroll Media, the ad sales division of podcast platform Stitcher, where he was most recently the east coast Regional Vice President of Sales. There, Slater was charged with overseeing the company’s regional sales team and oversaw ad sales on the Stitcher app.

Previous experience includes sales roles at Orbitz.com, Realtor.com, and Theatermania.com.

That said, Slater’s career includes stints as NSM for a station in New York now owned by Entercom: Sports WFAN-AM & FM. His tenure was from September 1997-February 1999.

He then went to Emmis’ former Smooth Jazz WQCD-FM (CD 101.9), until May 2001, and then spent a year as LSM for Clear Channel Classic Rocker WAXQ-FM (Q104.3).

Slater then worked in sales at famed Modern Rocker WLIR-FM in Garden City, N.Y., from May 2002-October 2003, and at Rocker WBAB-FM in Nassau-Suffolk.

He began his career in radio at McGavren Guild Radio, under Interep ownership, as an AE — in February 1994.

This followed an AE role at United Airlines.
