Snapple integrates with "The Amazing Race"

Snapple launched its new Papaya Mango Tea on the long-time CBS reality hit 3/27 in Kolkata, lndia. The limited-edition tea was integrated into the broadcast via contestants participating in a traditional tea tasting.  Teams began their journey in Kunming, China and traveled along the ancient tea trading route to Kolkata, where they collected ingredients that would combine for the perfect tea blend.


Snapple was highlighted within the episode and the new tea was unveiled on the mat when host Phil Keoghan presented the prize package to the first place team. 

The tea is a blend of green tea, black tea and the exotic flavors of papaya and mango.  Inspired by a region in India that’s “steeped” in rich tea tradition back over 2,000 years, Snapple Papaya Mango Tea is now available in regular and diet versions at participating retailers nationwide.

Papaya Mango will be supported with television advertising throughout the season that will air during each episode of The Amazing Race starting next week.  A Snapple Spokesperson tells RBR-TVBR the packaging will keep the Amazing Race on both the regular and diet flavors, as they are available for a limited time only. The television advertising that will air during each episode, but there are no other media executions planned. 

The custom Snapple “Real Facts” spots are consistent with the look and personality of Snapple and highlight the color and labeling of the new tea.

Snapple is also sponsoring “The Amazing Race” 10 year anniversary celebration in Miami 5/7, which will also coincide with this season’s finale on 5/8.
