Vitacost.com, an online retailer and direct marketer of health and wellness products, is launching its first-ever national broadcast media advertising campaign with a series of radio spots narrated by “Saturday Night Live” vet and mother of three, Maya Rudolph. The first ad air 1/30 in radio markets throughout the U.S. with future spots running through February.

Janet Reinhardt, Vitacost.com spokesperson, tells RBR-TVBR the Vitacost.com radio ad is “nationally syndicated with the primary target of women 25-64 and a secondary target of adults 25-64.  This will air on both traditional and satellite radio stations.  Some spots as live reads and others are pre-recorded. We’re working with several networks (Cumulus, Sirius, Premiere, Dial Global, Radio America etc.) and some shows include Mom Talk Radio, Dr. Laura, Bob & Sheri Show, Oprah, Martha Stewart, Radio Disney, Daily Does of Dr. Oz, American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest and more.”

In each ad, Rudolph speaks directly to fellow moms and introduces a best-of-both-worlds approach to smart shopping dubbed Momonomics. A playful combination of the words “mom” and “economics,” Momonomics is
defined as finding superior-quality, natural, healthy and organic products at the best possible prices, delivered in the most cost-effective, and time-efficient manner.

Print ads echoing this Momonomics theme are running in more than a dozen mainstream national publications, ranging from “Fit Pregnancy” to “Shape.”
