‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and ‘Glee’ pairing win 18-49 demo

Last night, 12/2/09, FOX’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE/GLEE pairing (3.0/8) won the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and key demos, driven by a strong performance by SYTYCD and season highs for GLEE:


SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE:
At 8pm, the SYTYCD results show delivered a 2.3/6, right in line with its prior season average and up +44% compared to last week’s delivery.

SYTYCD ranked No. 2 in the 8p hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens and No. 1 in Women 18-34.

GLEE:
GLEE posted a 3.6/9 among Adults 18-49 and drew 8.2 million total viewers last night — its highest-rated and most-viewed telecast of the season! In fact, last night’s episode of GLEE was its highest-rated telecast EVER among Adults 18-34 (including the post-American Idol telecast on 5/19/09).

Compared to its prior average so far this season, GLEE showed significant gains among Adults 18-49 (+13%), Adults 18-34 (+23%), Teens (+9%) and Total Viewers (+15%).

GLEE won its hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, Teens and all key demos. 

Competition
ABC ran a special Modern Family repeat (1.7/5) at 8p, an original The Middle (2.0/6) at 830p and repeats of Modern Family (2.3/6) and Cougar Town (1.8/5) at 9p and 930p.  An original episode of Eastwick (1.3/4) was low at 10p, down -32% from its prior season average (1.9/5).

CBS’ night of specials began with Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer (3.8/11) which was down -10% from its performance on the same night last year (4.2/12).  At 9p, the Grammy Nominations Concert posted a 2.3/6 and a repeat Criminal Minds delivered a 2.2/6 at 10p.

NBC’s Christmas In Rockefeller Center posted a 1.8/5, -18% below last year’s telecast (2.2/6 on 12/3/08).  A repeat Law & Order: SVU delivered a 2.0/5 at 9p and an average episode of The Jay Leno Show (1.5/4) aired at 10p.
