'So You Think You Can Dance’ taps a win for FOX

Last night’s, 11/18/09, telecasts of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE and GLEE delivered a nightly win for FOX in the key Adults 18-34 (+38% over nearest competitor ABC), Teens and Women 18-34 audiences.


At 8pm, the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE results show posted a 2.1/6 among Adults 18-49, in line with last week’s delivery (2.2/6).SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE ranked No. 1 in its hour among Adults 18-34 and Women 18-49.

GLEE at 9p delivered a 3.2/8 among Adults 18-49 — on par with its prior season average (3.3/9) — and was the highest rated program of the night among Adults 18-34 and Teens. So far this season GLEE shows strong growth compared to FOX’s regular Fall’08 average in the Wednesday 9p hour, increasing +83% among Adults 18-49, +125% among Adults 18-34, +82% among Teens and +47% in Total Viewers.

Competition
ABC’s special Modern Family repeat (1.9/6) was followed by average episodes of The Middle (2.4/7), Modern Family (3.7/10) and Cougar Town (3.2/8).  At 10p, the Janet Jackson interview on In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts delivered a 2.3/7.

On CBS, The New Adventures Of Old Christine (2.2/7), Gary Unmarried (2.5/7), Criminal Minds (3.7/9) were all on par, while CSI: NY was down -16% from last week’s crossover episode.

NBC’s Mercy (2.0/6), Law & Order: SVU (2.6/7) and The Jay Leno Show (1.4/4) were in line with their recent performances.

The CW aired a two-episode season finale of America’s Next Top Model (1.7/5 & 0.8/2).  Its regular 8p telecast was above its season average

(1.5/4) but down from the closers of last year’s fall and spring installments (2.3/7 on 11/19/08 & 1.9/6 on 5/13/09).
